SUPERFLEX QB STRATEGY
In superflex dynasty, quarterback scarcity is not a preference. It is a roster-construction rule.
Dynalyze protects startable quarterback coverage because losing a quarterback slot can erase a trade's value gain. A calculator can say the numbers work while the roster gets worse.
The baseline QB coverage rule
Dynalyze's default target is one more startable quarterback than your required quarterback and superflex slots. When league settings are unknown, the default target is three startable quarterbacks.
- Two startable QBs is fragile in most superflex formats.
- Three startable QBs gives injury and bye-week protection.
- Four startable QBs can become a trade lever if other rooms have holes.
When to trade a quarterback
Trading a quarterback is reasonable when the roster still has coverage or the return includes another startable quarterback. Contenders should only move a QB if the return improves the starting lineup. Rebuilders should usually keep young QBs unless the offer is a major liquidity upgrade.
Trade checklist
- Count startable QBs before and after the deal.
- Compare that number to your league's QB and superflex slots.
- Ask whether the return starts for you immediately.
- Check whether the quarterback you receive has job-security risk.
- Decide whether the trade improves your window or just balances a value chart.
The fastest way to break a good roster is to win a trade on paper and lose your second quarterback slot in practice.
